General Rules

  1. All participants must be from AICTE/UGC/IIT/NIT/other government affiliated institutions.

  2. Minimum 2 and Maximum 4 members are allowed in a team. No faculty members are allowed in a team.

  3. All Team members must be from the same institute.

  4. Team members can be from different academic years.

  5. Once team member name and details are updated .It could not be edited or changed.

  6. Team members could be from any stream BSc/MSc/MCA/or any appropriate streams of technical background.

  7. All the teams coming from a distance of 400+ km will get reimbursement in the travel allowance up-to Rs2000 or lower. The Shortest Distance from the belonging institution will be taken into consideration and up-to Sleeper class Rail fare.

  8. The registrations for the events will start from 25th March, 2019 and would close on 28th April, 2019. Only the Team Leader is allowed to register the team members.

  9. The date for Problem Statement Selection Starts on 15th April, 2019 and Closes on 28th April, 2019. Abstract Submission to be done by 28th April 2019.

  10. A team with all-girl participants will get free entry to the event.

  11. Students Can also register for special accommodation facilities at a cost of 500Rs per person.

  12. No Objection Certificate has to be uploaded before Problem Statement selection.

  13. There is no Registration Fee for the first round. In case of your proposal getting selected, you will be required to pay 400Rs to confirm your participation.

  14. The themes will be allotted on the first come, first serve basis, so it is advised to book as early as possible

  15. A team can select 3 problem statements and propose solutions for the same. Though they can only work on one during the final round.

  16. 1st round results of qualifying teams for the next round of the event will be announced on 5th May, 2019.

  17. The teams who have qualified for the 2nd Round will be contacted via E-Mail.

  18. 18. The final round of the event will take place on 28th May, 2019 on the UPES Dehradun Campus.

  19. 19. The Abstract has to be submitted in accordance with the specified format only. It has to be in PDF format only.

  20. The criterion for the selection of a team in the 1st round is solely based on reviews given by the Industry expert on the submitted Abstract.

  21. The ideas submitted by the teams will be kept completely confidential and protected under the banner of U-Hackathon.

  22. If a team has a working prototype for the proposed idea, then it is advised to bring that prototype along with them.

  23. There is No restriction on the number of teams from One College.

Terms and Conditions

  1. The Internships are completely and wholly the responsibility of the Organization and their requirements and will be solely based on your performance only

  2. The Event day might change due to unforeseen circumstances. In such a case, team will be notified of the changes 2 weeks prior from the event date.

  3. The decision of the Organizing Committee will be final and binding.

  4. Under the event of a teams failure to show up at the event, the decision of the Organizing Committee will be final.

  5. Refunds will be taken case by case. The decision of the Organizing Committee will be final.

  6. Participants have to submit the final Source Code and Software to the UPES Hackathon team for evaluation

  7. Winners can be from any category regardless of theme. The final decision will be taken by the Organizing Committee.

  8. Teams will be deemed ineligible to participate in case of a failure to Submit a No Objection Certificate.
